Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
- Valid Texas eaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned.
- ESL certification preferred for K-5 ELA, Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies and Special Education teaching assignments.
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Student teaching or approved internship.
- Physically able to monitor student discipline and progress and to meet other student needs as required.
What success looks like for this role:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of district’s curriculum program and show evidence of preparation using the district’s automated curriculum as required by district policy.
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations and differentiation for student learning styles.
- Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
- Collaborate with other members of staff for planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and best practices according to district requirements.
- Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity.
- Assist in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
