Description
George Mason University, Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center, is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person for a Masters Swim Coach to teach all levels of our swim program. Qualifications:
- High School or GED Diploma, College Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Outstanding customer service skills;
- Ability to work in a wet pool environment;
- Effective communication skills in English. Ability to communicate with adult swimmers, coaches, and Freedom Center management verbally and in email;
- Current US Masters Swimming (USMS) Member or membership acquired prior to employment;
- USMS Certified Level 1 or higher Coach within 2 months of accepting the position. USMS Certified Level 2 Coach or higher preferred;
- Prior swimming experience with an understanding of swim technique and the ability to adapt technique and communication method for each participant based on their limitations; and
- Ability to develop and direct swim workouts for adults with varying abilities, physical limitations, and fitness goals including Pool Competition, Open Water Competition, Triathlon Competition, and Fitness Swimming. Ability to teach swimming skills to athletes preparing for Military entry swim tests a plus.
