Description
Develop a highly competitive men’s baseball program, consistent with the student athlete philosophy of TJCCAA/NJCAA Division I, which generates college and community enthusiasm and support.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as men’s baseball coach including recruiting, organization of practice, game scheduling fundraising and promotion of program.
- Works within approved budgets and manage scholarship, operating, travel and fundraising budgets for the program.
- Maintains appropriate record keeping for program including, but not limited to: up-to-date statistical reports for NJCAA; student-athlete graduation and transfer statistics; files of student-athletes’ records to assist with eligibility; meets Columbia State and NJCAA deadlines for statistics, eligibility, etc.
- Monitor men’s baseball student-athlete progress including class attendance, academic performance, tutoring, registration for classes, personal adjustment and financial aid management as the advisor for the student athletes.
- Supervise the part-time assistant baseball coach or coaches.
- Maintain equipment and field.
- Assist with the coordination and implementation of the intramural sports program.
Education, Training and Experience:
- Master's degree.
- Two years of baseball coaching at the community college level.
- One year of high school or college-level student services experience.
