Description
The University of Denver is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to serve as the Men's Club Rugby Coach. Club Sport Coaches are responsible for overseeing the development and administration of their club sports teams within the university's club sports program. The coach plays a crucial role in providing coaching to student-athletes while promoting the values of sportsmanship and teamwork.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement effective training programs, practice sessions, and game strategies specific to the sport of rugby.
- Provide skill instruction, guidance, and constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment that promotes the personal and athletic development of student-athletes.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss team goals, expectations, and upcoming events.
- Coordinate practice schedules, facility reservations, and game schedules in collaboration with the club sports office and executive board.
- Ensure compliance with University policies, rules, and regulations related to club sports.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of coaching techniques, strategies, and game rules.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of student-athletes, coaches, and University staff.
- Familiarity with University club sports programs and the unique challenges and opportunities they present.
