Description
The position of Men’s Soccer Assistant and Goalkeeping Coach at North Central University serves as a member of the NCU Athletic Department. The individual will be a member of the NCU athletic staff and support the Head Men’s Soccer coach and all team members, with one specific duty being the guidance, development and regular training of the squad’s goalkeepers. It is a paid position (stipend).
Responsibilities:
- Attend and assist the Head Coach during team practices and matches during the fall season and during the ‘non-traditional’ portion of the year (spring training).
- Train the team’s goalkeepers during team practices and take the lead in their development, support and guidance.
- Warm up the team’s goalkeepers prior to matches and provide technical and tactical advice before, during and after games.
- On-field coaching duties will not be exclusive to working with the goalkeepers and may also require leading other activities that include the entire team.
- Run video analysis sessions with the team’s goalkeepers to aid in their development and match preparation.
- Participate in the ongoing recruitment of NCU Men’s Soccer student-athletes, primarily scouting and hosting goalkeeping prospects.
- Assist as needed in travel planning and providing transportation (driving NCU vehicles) to student-athletes to games and other team activities.
- Provide support to the program in full accordance with the NCAA, Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, NCCAA and North Central University policies.
- Promote North Central athletics in a positive manner on and off campus.

- Ability to communicate the mission and vision of North Central University to prospective student-athletes and their parents.
- The ability to work in a team setting and effectively with various audiences and departments.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to pass the background check upon hire and periodically throughout employment and hold a valid driver’s license.
- Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
