The Auxiliary Coach plays a vital role in supporting the Head Coach and contributing to the success of the program. This position is at the heart of the team’s day-to-day operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly while upholding the highest standards of NCAA, Conference, and University guidelines. The Auxiliary Coach may also have the exciting opportunity to serve as the Recruiting Coordinator, helping shape the future of the team by attracting top talent.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with practice planning, scouting, team activities, and individual coaching.
- Support the recruitment of student-athletes under the direction of the head coach.
- Ensure player wellness and maintain a positive team culture, focusing on the well-being of student-athletes both on and off the field.
- Hire and manage team managers, as well as supervise assistant coaches when necessary.
- Input compliance information into ACS and keep all necessary documentation current.
- Organize and coordinate team travel arrangements.
- Promote academic success by encouraging discipline and accountability.
- Arrange tutoring services and communicate with faculty about missed classes.
- Send recruitment information to Admissions for all prospective student-athletes.
- Manage team schedules, including practices, games, classes, player development, and weight training.
- Serve as facility liaison, reserving fields and meeting rooms for team activities.
- Coordinate with training staff to align schedules for medical and rehabilitation needs.
- Facilitate equipment ordering and management in collaboration with the head coach.
Qualifications:
- Degree educated.
- Familiar with NCAA rules and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license.
