The Middle School Assistant Track Coach is responsible for helping lead and manage the Middle School Track team, providing instruction, support, and motivation to student-athletes. The assistant coach will assist with the development and implementation of the volleyball program, focusing on the growth and performance of student-athletes while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and academic excellence.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement practice schedules, drills, and conditioning routines to enhance individual skills and team cohesion.
- Instruct players in the fundamentals of running track and overall strategy.
- Evaluate athletes' abilities, provide constructive feedback, and help improve their performance in competition and practice.
- Coach during track meets, ensuring proper technique, strategy, and sportsmanship are upheld.
- Manage and rotate athletes during meets to ensure equitable playing time and team development.
- Assist with athlete recruitment, retention, and tryouts, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunity for all participants.
- Monitor athlete attendance at practices and meets, and address concerns related to discipline or behavior.
- Collaborate with the head coach to establish team goals, performance expectations, and foster a positive and motivating team culture.
- Provide support to student-athletes in balancing their academic, athletic, and personal lives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- College-level coursework in physical education, kinesiology, or related field preferred.
- Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred.
- Playing experience at the high school level or above is highly desirable.
