Middle School Athletic Coach – Coed Golf

The positions are responsible for coaching student-athlete/team strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition and to help them develop an appreciation of sports participation. Two positions are available for the upcoming fall season – August 19 – October 11, 2024.

Responsibilities:

• Coach and instruct players, individually or in groups, regarding the sport's rules, regulations, equipment, techniques, and tactics.
• Observe players during practice and competition to determine individual or team improvement needs.
• Determine game strategy based on the individual and team’s capabilities.
• Establish and maintain high standards of behavior and supervise athletes at all times.
• Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.
• Observe school, league, state, regional, and national athletic program regulations.
• Model positive behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, parents, officials, and spectators – practice good sportsmanship.
• Employ nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.

Qualifications:

• Some experience as a head or assistant golf coach is preferred; however, playing experience at the high school, college, semi-professional, or professional level would suffice.
• Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.
• Must know the sport's rules, regulations, techniques, and strategies.
• Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and student-athletes.
