Description
Essential Functions:
- Establishing and clarifying acceptable standards for student behavior and demonstrating effective classroom management skills.
- Monitoring students in various educational environments to provide a safe and positive learning environment, handling social/emotional issues as they arise.
- Providing direct instruction to students in a regular classroom.
- Motivating and communicating with students from varied educational and cultural backgrounds.
- Incorporating relevant, rigorous, and challenging learning activities in daily lessons.
- Differentiating instruction based on student level.
- Attending and contributing to staff meetings, trainings, and IEP/504 meetings.
- Collaborating with other staff members in planning district curriculum and instructional methods, goals, and objectives.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS or higher degree with a preferred major in one of the following areas: Elementary Education, Physical Education, Curriculum, English Language Arts, or Social Studies.
- Hold or be eligible to hold a Washington State Teaching License, Emergency Substitute, or Conditional Teaching license.
