Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:
- Issues equipment and supervise the students’ care of it; check in and inventory equipment at the end of the season.
- Supervises physical examinations and be certain that every athlete returns the necessary form signed by the doctor and parent.
- Promotes a style of play consistent with the scope and sequence of the total program.
- Prepares a daily practice schedule and make continued efforts to improve coaching techniques.
- Dresses appropriately for coaching duties at practice and game time.
- Adheres to policies and procedures established by the Sioux Falls School District.
- Administers first aid to an injured player and take appropriate action such as notifying the family doctor, the parent, athletic director, and building principal.
- Communicates between officials and coaches in professional manner.
- Attends rules meetings and is familiar with the rules of the game.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma; BA/BS Education (preferred).
- High school/college participation.
- College course work in the Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries.
- Knowledge of the sport.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others.
