Description
Under the direction of the director of athletics, Meredith Locasto, the coach oversees the team's skill development, planning, and scheduling throughout the season. Candidates must commit to proper sportsmanship and respect for players, officials, opponents, fans, and other coaches. Candidates should have knowledge and experience in the sport and understand how to teach, mentor, and motivate student-athletes.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching/experience;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships with students, staff, parents, alumni, and community members;
- Ability to foster a positive team spirit as well as individual skill improvement;
- Availability to work a flexible schedule that includes some nights and weekends;
- First Aid and CPR training - or willing to be trained;
- A love for working with young people and a commitment to an inclusive community.
Physical Requirements:
This position is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices, and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Given that the role may involve dealing with active student behaviors and providing consistent support across different settings, this position requires the ability to navigate school environments, including classrooms and outdoor spaces, with sufficient stamina to maintain attention and energy throughout the day.
