Description
Ogden CSD is seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School Baseball Coach to lead and develop our baseball program for the upcoming summer. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the sport, the ability to teach fundamental skills, and a commitment to fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among middle school student-athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices focused on skill development and team strategies.
- Teach players the fundamentals of baseball, including hitting, fielding, pitching, base running, and game situations.
- Prepare athletes for competition through appropriate drills, exercises, and knowledge of the game.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive team environment that fosters personal growth and teamwork.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to athletes at all skill levels.
- Monitor the physical and mental well-being of athletes, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Develop game strategies and align practice sessions with competition needs.
- Coordinate and manage game-day logistics, including player rotations, team alignments, and substitutions.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school or high school level.
- Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, techniques, and rules.
- Ability to communicate effectively with middle school students, parents, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- A commitment to creating an environment that emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings and afternoons for practices and games.
