Middle School Head Volleyball Coach

The Middle School Head Volleyball Coach is responsible for providing instruction and coaching to students as a means of developing volleyball skills and contributing to all student athlete success in the classroom and on court. The Head Volleyball Coach is further responsible for directly supervising all assigned personnel along with ensuring and encouraging sportsmanlike conduct amongst all students and staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Uses a variety of instructional techniques and methods along with media to meet the needs of student athletes and the volleyball program as a means of improving the abilities of student athletes in the assigned sport.
• Manages and supervises all middle school volleyball activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship.
• Works with other members of school staff to plan and put in place instructional goals and objectives to ensure overall educational development of student athletes.
• Ensures that all volleyball coaches work together toward a common goal of success within the volleyball program and provide system unity with all lower-level volleyball programs within the District.
• Establishes performance criteria for competition and evaluates student athletic abilities on an initial and regular basis.
• Ensures all necessary precautions and safeguards are in place to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Monitors and enforces student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation.
• Works with the Principal and other coaches to schedule competitions and coordinate appropriate arrangements.
• Assists in the development and coordination of a continuing system of evaluations of all coaches within the volleyball program and makes changes based on findings and the ongoing needs of the volleyball program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Candidate must hold, or be eligible to hold, a Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB) endorsement as a Head Volleyball Coach.
• 1+ years of experience as a middle school volleyball coach.
• Valid Wyoming teaching certification.
