Description
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive and inclusive softball program, encompassing all age groups from youth to Middle School.
- Plan and conduct effective training sessions that focus on skill development, tactical understanding, and physical fitness.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes respect, sportsmanship, and teamwork among players, coaches, and parents.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to assistant coaches and volunteers involved in the softball program.
- Organize and coordinate tryouts, team selections, and player evaluations to ensure fair and objective decision-making.
- Develop individualized player development plans and provide constructive feedback to players to help them reach their full potential.
- Coordinate and communicate with parents, players, school administration, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of the softball program.
- Attend league meetings, workshops, and coaching clinics to stay updated on the latest coaching techniques, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at any level, with a proven track record of developing players and achieving team success.
- Extensive knowledge of softball techniques, strategies, and rules, with the ability to effectively teach and communicate them to players of varying skill levels.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire players to reach their potential while maintaining a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish positive relationships with players, parents, school staff, and community members.
- A commitment to inclusivity and diversity, ensuring equal opportunities for all players regardless of their background, skill level, or identity.
- Current certification in coaching softball or a willingness to obtain necessary certifications before the start of the season.
