Fairmount Elementary seeks passionate educators to join an experienced team of teachers operating with high levels of professionalism and community investment. Candidates who embrace a growth mindset, willingness to fail forward, understand the importance of social-emotional learning and strong collaboration skills are important to our core work. In addition to teaching duties, applicants are expected to participate on school committees and attend select school events. Applicants must love kids, be energetic, flexible, collaborative, and hold a strong belief that all students can achieve. The ability to model technology best practices and data-based instruction is required. Preferred experience in the following areas: working in a PLC environment, workshop model of instruction, instructional strategies for gifted and talented students.
Collaborate with content teams to adapt Health and Wellness curriculum to students to provide lifelong fitness and healthy lifestyle opportunities.
Teach knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, rhythms, dance, team sports and other related activities as adopted by the district curriculum guidelines.
Collaborate with staff to provide quality and adaptive programming for Special Education Students with IEP's.
Analyze, demonstrate and explain basic skills, knowledge's and strategies of formal sports, games and fundamentals of body movement.
Provide appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment and field areas to insure the over-all safety of students.
Maintain all school owned property and equipment.
Communicate with parents or other school personal on student progress.
Participate in school meetings and functions and is an integral part of the staff.
