Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and implement a program of study following state and district goals/curriculum that meets the individual needs and development of students.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals; establish clear objectives for all instructional units, projects, and lessons to communicate these goals and objectives to students.
- Effective communication, oral and written, with students, staff, parents, and the public.
- Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Establish and clarify acceptable standards for student behavior and demonstrate effective classroom management skills.
- Diagnose the needs and abilities of students and prescribe appropriate learning activities for each student.
- Assess the accomplishments of students regularly and maintain such records as required by law and District policy.
- Maintain excellence in instruction with focus upon student outcomes.
- Utilize age-appropriate instructional strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current valid Oregon Teaching License with appropriate authorization level required, or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of subject matter, to seek professional growth, and improve classroom instruction.
- Ability to demonstrate high standards of moral and ethical behavior and to serve as an effective role model.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- Other qualifications as may be established by the school district.
