Description
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning, employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students including strategies to meet diverse student needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clearly communicate learning objectives to students.
- Under the general supervision of the School Principal develop students' physical skills and abilities, strength, agility, poise, coordination, and teamwork.
- Develop students' understanding of the importance of exercise to physical and mental well-being.
- Motivate students to work towards physical fitness, hygiene, and good health.
- Create engaging lessons aligned with pacing guidelines and district curriculum to drive the growth and development of students.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet diverse student needs and interests.
- Use student data from formative and summative assessments to plan instructional delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Valid Ohio teaching license for the appropriate content area and grade level.
- Experience working in urban education.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction and intervention strategies.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and or child/development principles.
- Ability and willingness to utilize technology in the enhancement of student learning.
