Description
University School of Nashville (USN) is seeking a passionate and qualified Physical Education Teacher to plan and lead developmentally appropriate physical education lessons for K-8 students. The goal of USNs physical education program is to create a positive and inclusive environment, guided by the practices of Responsive Classroom, that fosters growth and teamwork among students and faculty.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging physical education lessons tailored to K-8 students.
- Collaborate with physical education colleagues to integrate best practices and maintain a growth-oriented teaching approach.
- Demonstrate a commitment to transformational coaching by supporting athletic programs in collaboration with the Athletics Director.
- Work closely with the Physical Education Team Leaders and Athletics Director for planning and assignments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field (graduate degree preferred).
- Extensive experience in teaching physical education and coaching school-aged students.
- Enthusiasm for working collaboratively in a diverse K-12 independent school environment.
- Knowledge of Responsive Classroom principles and a commitment to innovative teaching practices.
