Physical Education Teacher

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in conducting intensified learning experience for students in assigned area and relieves teacher of various non-instructional duties.
• Assist teacher in the management of student arrival and departure time.
• Perform supportive tasks for a certified teacher that is primarily non-instructional in nature.
• Assist teacher and students in achieving the objectives of the program or activities.
• Maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher.
• Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow-up learning activity.
• Assist in filing, organizing materials for distribution and recording information.
• Assist in maintaining student records, attendance and files.
• Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Accredited Senior High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency), plus one of the following: Associate degree, 48 college credit hours, pass an academic assessment.
• Paraprofessional certificate required from State Board of Certification.
• Proficient in basic communication techniques and language.
• Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, parents and the general public.
• Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must possess good writing skills and be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and employees.
• Demonstrated flexibility to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
• Demonstrated willingness to remain current with the latest developments in the profession.
