Physical Education Teacher 24-25 School Year

Responsible for maximizing the academic progress of the students they teach, working with colleagues. Promote a positive, purposeful and professional working atmosphere that encourages cooperation and challenge, while valuing the contribution that individuals make to the success of the class and school.

Responsibilities:

• Create daily lesson plans that are engaging, educational and exciting for the scholars, encouraging them to want to come to school.
• Teach scholars in a classroom setting, managing their work output in the classroom and behavior on a daily basis.
• Deliver lesson plans in a way that catches the attention of the scholars and keeps them occupied and excited about learning.
• Reach school and course-wide performance goals for every scholar.
• Increase educational knowledge and stay up to date on new methods by joining professional organizations, attending continuing education courses and attending regular training sessions for teachers.
• Weave goals, competencies, and objectives into lesson plans in ways that directly apply to the scholar's life.
• Develop teaching and learning materials for use in class, including lesson plans, exams and homework, homework and projects, and assignments that make use of all scholar skills.
• Instruct scholars in one or more subjects using discussions, lectures, small group teaching

Qualifications:

• Four-year degree and hold a current Illinois Educators License.
• Completed degree or course of study in a field related to the subject you will be teaching.
• Supervised classroom experience or experience working with children.
