Description
Essential Job Functions:
- Determines a sequence of learning experiences by developing written plans, both long term and daily/weekly, in physical fitness, gross motor skills, perceptual motor skills, and sports and games achievement; applying an appropriate teaching strategy consistent with student needs and time allocations.
- Informs families of curriculum by initiating regular communications with parents about student progress through parent-teacher conferences, telephone calls, and written schedules and curriculum documents; conferencing with families regarding student achievement and behavior; receiving and responding to parent requests for information and assistance.
- Improves teaching effectiveness by using instructional time appropriately; maintaining an appropriate physical education environment, and maintaining individual, class, and program records; responding to performance evaluation recommendations; participating in required school sponsored in-service activities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1 year of teaching experience in physical education.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations governing the position.
- Ability to learn software programs used by the department.
