Physical Education Teacher

The Physical Education Teacher provides an instructional program that will engage students in sports competitions and other physical activities, stressing the importance of maintaining a healthy way of life through both exercise and positive lifestyle choices.

Requirements:

• Valid Connecticut State Department of Education Certification in Physical Education (044, 201) is required and Health (043, 072, 201) is preferred.
• Experience in providing physical education and health instruction in an elementary setting is preferred.
• Experience with developmentally appropriate, inquiry-based teaching and learning.
• Experience with the Data Team process is preferred.
• Experience with Scientific Research-Based Intervention (SRBI) is preferred.
• Certification in Physical Management Training (PMT) is preferred.
• Strong organizational, recordkeeping, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Must possess good judgment in the supervision of, management of, and communication with students.
