Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute quality physical education lessons for students in grades K-4;
- Work within a team of elementary wellness educators to develop and evaluate programs, curriculum, assessment, teaching methods, etc.;
- Promote the value of physical education and wellness throughout the school and community;
- Work with other teachers to integrate curriculum and develop creative programming;
- Work with professionals from other disciplines (e.g., classroom teachers, counseling, health services, etc.) to meet the individual needs of student's knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Qualifications:
- Evidence of undergraduate/graduate courses in motor development and motor training, physiology of exercise, kinesiology, and anatomy;
- Demonstrated understanding of human growth and development;
- Evidence of courses in motor skills development;
- Evidence of courses in first aid and C.P.R;
- Evidence of courses in teaching a variety of skill activities;
- Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of instructional strategies and techniques;
- Demonstrated understanding of appropriate class management skills.
