Physical Education Teacher

The Ferguson Florissant School District is seeking an outstanding educator to teach High School PE/Health. The STEAM Program will provide an environment of excellence where students are engaged in project-based learning in order to develop a keen understanding of academic content and apply their knowledge. Students will be empowered to take ownership for their learning and encouraged to question and innovate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Plans daily instructional activities for all students including the development of lesson plans, materials and assessment tools which meet the individual needs of the students.
• Understands and implements acceleration and differentiation in response to varied learner needs.
• Holds high expectations for all students and sees themselves as facilitators of student learning.
• Organizes and uses a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials and technology to maximize the learning of each child, individually and in group settings.
• Assesses student progress, both formatively and summatively, providing parents, student and administrators with specific feedback regarding individual student performance and uses the results to adjust instruction as needed.
• Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, District policy, and administration regulations.
• Takes responsibility for teaching the district curriculum as outlined in the curriculum documents while incorporating culturally responsive teaching strategies.
