Description
Qualifications:
- Evidence of strong Christian faith and values and acknowledgement of the School’s Statement of Faith and Staff Leadership Covenant.
- Bachelor’s degree in physical education. Master’s degree preferred. Teaching Certificate in subject area preferred or evidence of enrollment in an accredited university state approved teacher preparation program within three years of hire date.
- Evidence of knowledge of physical education curriculum and the ability to implement it.
- Ability to interact collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and Administration.
- Excellent oral and written skills.
- Must pass drug test, fingerprinting, and Level 2 background check.
Responsibilities:
- Teach knowledge and skills to students utilizing the course of study prescribed by the approved curriculum.
- Design projects that meet students with varying intellectual abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional needs.
- Write lesson plans that meet the goals as set forth by Administration.
- Promote, model, and expect safety in all aspects of the physical education (P.E.) curriculum and all interactions.
- Foster sportsmanship, respect, and fair play.
- Promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyle through additional means to support the P.E. curriculum and the school’s mission.
- Follow Policies and Procedures as set forth by Administration.
- Provide a clean, safe, and nurturing teaching environment.
