Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for planning, implementing and assessing Jefferson County Schools’ curriculum based on WV Content Standards and Objectives.
- Responsible for implementing adopted and supplemental academic programs.
- Responsible for implementing 21ST Century technology skills.
- Responsible for planning and implementing inclusion with special education students.
- May be responsible for planning & implementing designated co-curricular activities and/or programs at the school such as curricular fairs, awards programs and field trips.
- Responsible for administering approved formative and/or summative assessments.
- Responsible for planning and implementing tiered instruction for reading and math.
- Addresses and implements students’ IEPs and 504 Plans and recommends revisions when needed.
- Adheres to JCS Grading and Achievement Policy.
- Strong working/communication skills and collaboration with students, parents and peers to promote and support student learning.
- May direct/support the work of aides, student teachers, and volunteers to provide an effective learning environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated knowledge of elementary content and curriculum.
- Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents.
