Description
ECFS is currently seeking a Physical Education Teacher for Fieldston Middle and Upper School, teaching 6th through 12th grade. The candidate should be dynamic, creative, and experienced in best practices for physical education in middle and upper school grades. This individual will join a team of committed and collaborative colleagues.
Responsibilities:

Teaching sports skills, team sports, fitness classes, physical education activities, and swimming;

Having a collaborative approach with other colleagues, including sharing resources and communicating about curriculum and student progress;
-
Attending PE department, division, and school wide meetings;
-
Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize various tasks, and stay organized;
-
Preparing for and communicating student performance by writing narrative seasonal reports;
-
Ability to maintain accurate student record keeping of grades and attendance;
-
The capacity to maintain a pleasant and positive attitude toward teaching and learning;
-
Ensuring compliance with school policies, state regulations, and educational standards;
-
Ability to confidently address behavioral issues and other challenges that may arise in the classroom in order to maintain a safe environment.
Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in physical education or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is highly preferred;

Prior experience and proven ability in teaching physical education in grades 6th through 12.

A passion for teaching;

The ability to collaborate with various members of the department;

The ability to listen effectively and be receptive to feedback;

Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills;

An understanding and commitment to cultural competency and how to support a diverse student population;

Flexibility to teach using different methods and strategies to meet students' needs;

A commitment to ongoing professional development.
