Description
The Physical Therapist at Orange County Soccer Club will be primarily responsible for the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions of the Players. The Physical Therapist will report directly to the General Manager and Head Coach and communicate at least daily with the Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Trainer/Assistant Athletic Trainer as directed by the General Manager and Head Coach.
- Monitor any changes in mental, psychological, and physical health of the Players through daily interactions and discuss with/refer to appropriate Team Medical Staff as indicated.
- Restore players function, alleviate pain, and prevent disabilities by planning and administering prescribed physical therapy.
- Help Players accomplish treatment plans by administering exercises, manual interventions, and using equipment as necessary.
- Accurately evaluate and record players' progress, modifying treatment plans, and trying new treatments if required.
- Comply with OSHA standards
- Maintain and inventory Physical Therapy supplies and clinical equipment.
- Provide up-to-date physical therapy evaluation, plan of care, progress notes.
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills required to work effectively with other Team Medical Staff members, Players, Coaches, other Team personnel.
- Provide daily reports both verbal and written to Coaching and Management of player status and updates.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum four (4) year college/university bachelor’s degree.
- Master’s degree (MPT) or Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT).
- Minimum three (2) years’ experience as a physical therapist since receiving licensure.
- Minimum three (2) years’ experience in a sports environment caring for elite-level.
- Must be able to work independently and with a team.
- Must be able to successfully pass background check and become Safe Sport certified.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to multitask, work and problem solve in a small team environment.
- Must be detail-oriented and set high standards for accuracy.
