Responsibilities:
- Initiate and Maintain Therapeutic Programs: Develop and implement personalized treatment plans to help patients achieve their goals.
- Conduct Evaluations: Administer initial evaluations, identify primary impairments, and use appropriate outcome measures to create effective treatment plans.
- Implement Treatment Programs: Provide therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, home evaluations with recommendations, orthotic and assistive device recommendations, and therapeutic home programs. Engage patients in various mobility exercises, neurodevelopment sequence exercises, flexibility exercises, and extremity manipulations. Assist patients with brain injuries in navigating different surfaces, including hills, stairs, and uneven terrain, providing all levels of assistance as needed.
- Provide Pain Relief: Use modalities such as hot packs, cold packs, "Omni stim" units, neuromuscular stimulation units, transcutaneous nerve stimulation units, and perform light and deep massage to relieve pain and improve patient comfort.
- Program Management: Continuously check on patient progress to ensure the effectiveness of treatment programs. Review and update patient programs through interim evaluations.
- Supervise and Guide: Instruct clinic aides on daily treatment plans, supervise their work, and provide guidance and advice as needed. Supervise students and share your expertise and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of employment.
- Membership in APTA is desirable.
