Physical Therapist

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete student evaluations/screenings/standardized testing in accordance with Collaborative guidelines.
• Complete daily service documentation.
• Write professional reports, develop Individual Education Programs (IEP), maintain data collection employing research-based best practice strategies to demonstrate student progress and adjust student goals.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Document interventions and progress on each student.
• Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process
• Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the Collaborative
• Create a therapeutic environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
• Manage student behavior.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents/guardians and community members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Massachusetts Licensed Physical Therapist.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from accredited College or University.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and manage a therapeutic and engaging learning environment for students with moderate/severe disabilities.
• Experience with the use of data to inform and guide educational and therapeutic classroom and individual student programming.
• Demonstrated ability to work on behalf of students in a collegial and skillful fashion with staff, families, and Collaborative employees.
• Demonstrated ability to implement with integrity, recommendations of internal and external expert consultants and related service providers regarding individual students and classroom practices and expectations.
