Description
A Physical Therapist is an individual licensed to perform examination, treatment or instructions to detect, assess, prevent, correct and alleviate physical disability and pain from injury, disease, disorders or physical deformities through the use of specific evaluation technique, massage or manipulation, therapeutic exercises, hydrotherapy, and various forms of energy.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Education: Graduate of an approved physical therapy program with evidence of current licensure in the state of Texas.
- Maintain continuing education requirements as defined by the Texas State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
- Minimum Work Experience: None
- Required Licenses/Certifications: Evidence of current licensure in the state of Texas. CPR certified.
JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
- Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the HMHD Compliance Plan.
- Conduct reflects HMHD's values and a commitment to HMHD's Code of Conduct.
- Attends the required corporate integrity and compliance training and education programs.
- Demonstrates proficiency in understanding the materials presented during the corporate integrity and compliance training and education program.
- Complies with all HIPAA standards.
- Performs evaluations, develops and implements the Physical Therapy Plan of Treatment in conjunction with the referring and/or treating physician, patient, and family.
- Evaluates the patient within 72 hours.
- Performs initial patient evaluation and plans appropriate therapy program with approval of the attending physician.
