Description
Focused on supporting and improving a child s ability to participate as successfully and fully in their school environment utilizing physical therapy methods and methodologies. This position is based in Union County.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
- NJ Consumer Affairs Physical Therapy License.
- School Certification in NJ.
Essential Functions:
- Adhere to the principles of the Professional Code of Ethics and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs Statutes and Regulations for a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Available during the regular school hours at assigned site and for required meetings within the parameters of the scheduled work day.
- Is adept in utilizing the educational model of service vs. the medical model of service in regards to the development and maintenance of a student s therapy program.
- Demonstrate good and timely communication skills to receive or convey essential and important information (i.e., reports and evaluations), to pertinent educational staff, CSH School Services staff, parents, student and other necessary entities.
- Will participate in IEP and other school meetings when appropriate. Such meetings could be in- person, by phone or by virtual meeting platform.
- Display good collaborative skills which are crucial in formulating a specialized transdisciplinary plan for a student in their educational program.
- Provide necessary instruction, training, supervision and monitoring of school personnel in the use of a prescribed therapeutic plan, technique, or modality.
