The Office of Exceptional Education strives to provide a continuum of services to ensure that all students have a quality education that meets their unique needs and prepares them to be productive, contributing members of a global society. Through collaborative partnerships with parents, educators, and community stakeholders, the Physical Therapist will serve as a part of a team of related service providers who support students in accessing their educational program within the comprehensive and/or private day school environment.
Master’s or Doctoral degree in physical therapy, from an accredited university.
Appropriate license as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Physical Therapy.
Minimum of two years of experience as a physical therapist, school based preferred.
Possession of or ability to obtain a National Provider Identification (NPI) number prior to employment.
Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of school-based physical therapy services.
Excellent organizational, and oral and written communication skills.
Bilingual skills, to include Spanish, preferred.
Ability to work independently and to effectively handle multiple school assignments.
Possession of a valid Virginia Driver’s License and use of a personal vehicle.
