This position is located at Soldier Readiness Unit, Schofield Barracks, HI. Hawaii on the island of Oahu. Oahu is the third largest island in the Hawaiian chain. It is home to about three-fourths of the state's population. Honolulu is the state capitol and Waikiki, the most world-renowned site on Oahu, is the top visitor destination of the state. The island is very geographically diverse with mountains, rainforests, tropics, volcanic craters, beaches, and much more.
Evaluate all wounded, ill and injured Soldiers entering the program and manages each Soldier's individual reconditioning program goals and desired outcomes.
Have oversight responsibility for comprehensive physical therapy care and transition services for military members receiving services through the Soldier Recovery Unit
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on physical fitness, performance optimization, physical rehabilitation, and adaptive reconditioning to the Soldier Recovery Unit commander, Military Treatment Facility, and outside entities.
Directly supervises and coordinates the work of assigned civilian Physical Therapist Assistants.
Plan and organize work to be accomplished by subordinate therapy staff, workload demands and ensure appropriate disposition of workload.
Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physical Therapist from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and must have passed the National Physical Therapy Examination administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0633 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before.
