The Physical Therapist implements the evaluation and treatment of medically disabled patients using established procedures. Provides education to patients and family to deal with present disabilities or prevent further disabilities. Provides consultation to health care personnel and public in matters related to physical therapy. Provides consultation to health care personnel and public in matters related to physical therapy.
Evaluate and treat physical therapy patients.
Monitor measures for customer service and clinical quality.
Organize and perform community presentations on sports injury prevention body mechanics and performance enhancement, directed at community youth, high school, collegiate and professional athletes.
Facilitate and maintain relationship between SMMH sports Medicine and school athletic trainer by way of programs( Clinics, screenings, training camps).
Facilitate a smooth continuum of patient care between Physicians, Physical Therapists and Sports Performance Staff.
Assist patients to navigate the system through referrals in and /or outside SMMH.
Serves as an educator, consultant, sports performance instructor, strength and conditioning specialist for SMMH community.
Markets the sports medicine program under the direction Service Line Administrator and program director.
Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
Completion of training in accordance with minimum essentials for therapy schools as prescribed by Council of Medical Education and Hospitals of American Medical Association. Graduation from an AMA-APTA approved school of Physical Therapy.
State of Michigan Licensed Physical Therapist Membership in or eligibility for membership in American Physical Therapy Association.
Strong listening and communication skills; strong documentation skills; requires excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills. Masters the ability to manage a variety of tasks and problems simultaneously; high level of initiative and ability to self-direct to solve problems and troubleshoot; ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary group of providers. Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
