Serves as the Subject Matter Expert on Physical Fitness, performance optimization, physical rehabilitation, and Adaptive Reconditioning to the Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU) commander, Military Treatment Facility (MTF), and outside entities. This position is located in the Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU) on Fort Carson CO.
Incumbent has oversight responsibility for comprehensive physical therapy care and?transition services for military members receiving services through the SRU.
Incumbent evaluates the overall delivery of care to Service members through quality improvement assessment, monitoring programs to ensure consistent high quality Soldier care in the Adaptive Reconditioning program.
Incumbent functions as authoritative source in specialty areas such as the following:?comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments/evaluations; Functional Capacity?Evaluations (FCE); etc
Provides observable feedback on functional performance as requested; ability of Soldier to?successfully Return to Duty (RTD); issues related to compliance with medical care plans?and medical/physical evaluation board actions, etc
Directly supervises and coordinates the work of assigned civilian Physical Therapist?Assistant(s) (PTA) engaged in performing PT care and treatment and leads Adaptive?Reconditioning Team.

Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physical Therapist from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and must have passed the National Physical Therapy Examination administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).
