This position supports the achievement of Individual Education Plan goals for students identified as having special education diagnoses (as well as a variety of medical diagnoses) and 504 plans. The PT collaborates with special services teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school specialists to provide appropriate, effective intervention/instruction to students.
An individual who holds this position is frequently required to walk, stand, stoop, bend, and kneel; Is regularly required to talk and hear; daily personal and close contact with children is required; the selected applicant will regularly assist students with bodily movement; Must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; Will regularly push, pull, reach for, and carry objects; Must demonstrate significant finger dexterity; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. These are essential functions of the job.
Bachelor’s degree from an Accredited Physical Therapy Program; Current Missouri Physical Therapist license by the Missouri Board of Healing Arts; Experience working with children who have a variety of special education diagnoses, medical diagnoses, conditions, and/or disabilities.
