Description
The Physical Therapist provides direct patient care and develops plans to accomplish goals. Demonstrates in patient care and documentation, thoroughness, reliability and analytical sense guided by available evidence. Coordinates assigned patient loads, and workload of patient care support personnel. Participates in clinical education program for students from affiliated universities. Participates in Quality Management program and attains required procedural competencies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reviews and evaluates physician’s referral to determine physical therapy treatment, goats, plans and patient education.
- Assess progress and goals, Modifies treatment plan as appropriate.
- Reviews patient medication list, allergies and medical and surgical history.
Education/Experience:
- Graduate of accredited University program in Physical Therapy.
- License/Registration/Certification: Indiana Licensure, or eligible for state licensure within 180 days.
- CPR certification current, BLS Course C (Basic Life Support).
- Must have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work with frequent interruption.
- Must demonstrate self-assessment, initiation, and the ability to work collaboratively on a team.
- Must have a customer service orientation and ability to communicate and listen effectively.
- Must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to accept change.
- A basic understanding of federal and state regulations regarding billing, compliance, documentation, and supervision of support staff as they relate to the practice of relevant discipline.
- Maintains knowledge of professional practice issues/changes locally and nationally.
