Description
The Rehabilitation Services Physical Therapist provides evaluation and treatment of patients in a range of specialty programs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates self-directed learning.
- Provides quality patient care by considering the age specific, development and cultural needs through competent clinical practice. Demonstrates unit/area competencies.
- Demonstrates competency with individualized assessment of patients using a wide variety of assessment measures and procedures.
- Stays up to date on all participating insurance guidelines for rehabilitation services.
- Provides thorough documentation on each patient interaction. Documentation must be timely and include all pertinent information required by state law, accrediting agencies and 3rd party payers.
- Formulates individualized, age specific, therapy goals based upon assessment results and patient needs.
- Consults with other team members and selects the most appropriate plan of care consistent with the needs and capabilities of the patient.
- Implements patient care in a manner consistent with the therapy goals and the changing needs of the patient, using a variety of therapeutic approaches.
- Completes daily charges for each patient while adhering to ethical practices per insurance guidelines for each payer.
- Orients patients and families to the therapeutic purposes and procedures of physical therapy, and educates them about home programs, impairments and progress.
Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of Michigan.
- Experience working with SCI and TBI population is preferred.
