Texas A&M Sports Performance Department (Olympic Sports) is now accepting applications for multiple part-time intern positions for the 2020-2021 school year. Interns will assist the sports performance staff in all day-to-day operations at three Texas A&M weight rooms. Practical experiences will include but are not limited to: assisting staff in the implementation of sport performance programs for Olympic sports, leading small groups independently, set up/breakdown of training equipment and assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities. Interns will participate and complete all assignment requirements through our formalized intern education curriculum and attend all staff meetings.
Assist staff in the implementation of assigned sports performance programs.
Proper set up/ breakdown of training equipment
Maintenance and upkeep of the facilities to ensure a safe training environment.
Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations.
Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations for all staff members and student workers supervised.
Actively coaching and teaching, and demonstrating proper movement and lifting technique.
Coaching small training groups independently and performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in exercise science or a related field.
1-3 years of relevant experience.
