Program Head – Boys Basketball, Physical Education Teacher, and Coach

The Program Head - Boys Basketball, Physical Education Teacher, and Coach is responsible for leading the Boys Basketball Program, while serving as a Physical Education Teacher and Coach. This position is responsible for teaching Lower and Middle School P.E. as well as coaching a minimum of three seasons. The Program Head - Boys Basketball, Physical Education Teacher, and Coach reports to the Director of Athletics, to the P.E. Director, and to their sport specific Program Head when coaching.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• In support of the Boys Basketball Program, develop teamwork, moral, sportsmanship, courtesy, fair play, and strict adherence to rules of training and conduct.
• Participate in on-field instruction, scouting of opponents, coaching meetings, video sessions, and overall program evaluation decisions.
• Serve as a coach on two secondary sports at either the Middle and/or Upper School level.
• Teach multiple sections of physical education classes at the Lower and/or Middle School level.
• Guide student athletes in their pursuit of academic, athletic, and personal excellence.
• Responsible for the conduct of all student athletes in the program at all times, including during training sessions, games, travel, at hotels, in locker rooms, etc.
• Show respect for officials, media personnel, opposing coaching, parents, fans, student athletes, fellow coaches, and school faculty and staff.
• Coach Summer Session (Sports Performance/Conditioning/Agilities).
• Supervision duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Previous experience coaching high school basketball or higher.
• Previous experience teaching physical education classes (preferred).
• Dynamic, collegial, collaborative, energetic, and engaging.
• Models exceptional sportsmanship.
• Successful coaching track record.
• Excellence at team building.
