QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS:
- Fitness/recreation facility management experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with coaches, students, co-workers, and community members.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage time.
- Experience in the development and implementation of wellness and recreation programming.
- Strong human and public relations skills and a positive, motivational attitude.
- Knowledge of the NJCAA Rules and ICCAC By-laws.
- Knowledge of day-to-day operations with athletics and recreation programs.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide strategic oversight for Athletics and Recreation/LLRC.
- Work with Recreation/LLRC staff to develop and coordinate all wellness and recreation programs in the LLRC.
- Coordinate staff, work schedules, and assignments, including but not limited to front desk staff, group fitness instructors, personal trainers, recreation staff, custodial/maintenance staff, etc.
- Coordinate staff training and ensure maintenance of certification requirements.
- Work with custodial and maintenance staff to ensure building maintenance, proper cleanliness, and equipment maintenance for Recreation/LLRC and Athletics.
- Work effectively within a team environment.
- Support the Student Activities and Housing Coordinator in planning and implementing various student activities/co-curricular activities.
- Coordinate staff training and ensure maintenance of certification requirements.
