Description
Qualifications:
- South Carolina certification as required for the position or eligible for appropriate certification.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Administrative and/or coaching experience.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Preference will be given to individuals with national certification in Athletic/Sports Administration.
Performance Functions:
- Develops long and short-range plans in relation to assigned administrative responsibilities (e.g., policies, procedures, staffing, materials, equipment, space requirements, etc) to ensure organizational objectives are achieved in the most efficient and timely manner.
- Directs the implementation of existing and new athletic programs/services through a combination of delegation and personal involvement to ensure new programs/services are provided within established timeframes in conformance with all related requirements.
- Facilitates meetings that may frequently involve a range of issues (e.g., personnel actions, financial procedures, regulatory requirements, community involvement, actions involving outside agencies, inter-departmental needs) to identify appropriate actions, develop recommendations, and support other staff.
- Manages athletic events (e.g., facility set-up/clean-up, schedule transportation, schedule officials) to ensure venues are prepared to allow for a success event within a safe environment.
