Secondary Physical Education and Health

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum in Physical Education and Health; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develop student understanding and mastery of lesson objectives.
• Demonstrate and clearly communicate content knowledge to students.
• Engage students in academic content.
• Check for understanding.
• Modify instruction as needed.
• Develop higher level of understanding through rigorous instruction and work.
• Maximize instructional time.
• Create classroom culture of respect and collaboration.
• Set high expectations for academic success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Indiana teaching license for the assigned grade, level and/or subject(s).
• Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
