Description
The Senior Associate Athletics Director, under administrative direction of the Deputy Athletics Director, is responsible for day-to-day management and oversight of multiple areas within the athletics department including NCAA compliance; sport administration; professional development for Athletics staff; Sports Medicine; and Human Performance/Strength & Conditioning.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee a comprehensive athletics compliance program that includes education, monitoring, and reporting related to NCAA legislation.
- Manage programming and technology related to Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) activities.
- Serve as Executive Staff liaison to Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and provide leadership to solicit and receive feedback from student-athletes related to SAAC activities and Athletics-governance topics.
- Assist with reporting and distribution of athletically related financial aid in accordance with applicable NCAA bylaws and institutional policies and procedures.
- Help coordinate institutional response and materials related to NCAA and conference action items.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits to monitor compliance with NCAA, conference, and university policies.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for interpreting and communicating NCAA rules to coaches, staff, and student-athletes.
- Conduct regular workshops, training sessions, and informational meetings to keep stakeholders informed about rule changes and interpretations.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES (SKA’s):
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
- Thorough knowledge of rules and regulations associated with conference and NCAA legislation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to trouble-shoot and problem solve creatively as well as think strategically and contribute to a team environment.
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decision and sound judgements.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and fairness through recruitment, selection, and supervision of staff.
