Description
The Senior Associate Strength and Conditioning Coach will report to the Senior Associate Athletic Director. This coach will be an integral part of the preparation of our student-athletes for participation and will develop and gain experience through research-based training modalities aimed at injury prevention, performance preparation and the physical, psychological and cognitive development of our student-athletes.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead part-time strength and conditioning coaches and oversee the Intern program.
- Develop and administer sound strength and conditioning program, teaching safe lifting and movement techniques and overall supervision of weight room and conditioning sessions.
- Motivate student-athletes to reach progress goals in a timely manner and work with coaching staffs of assigned teams to ensure team goals are being met.
- Head Strength Coach for Men's Basketball and an additional 2-4 teams (approximately 45-70 student-athletes).
- Coordinate athletic performance profiles for assigned teams (50-70 student-athletes).
- Lead the implementation of Force Plate scans and evaluations of unique movement signatures for all student-athletes.
- Manage the fueling station for the department.
- Collaborate with and assist the Sports Medicine Staff in developing sports specific return to play rehabilitation protocols for injured student-athletes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or a related field required. A Master's degree in Exercise Sports Science or related area preferred.
- Two years of working as a full-time strength and conditioning coach.
- Completed certification CSCS, USAW, CSCCa or SCCC.
- Candidates must have excellent communication skills, oral and written skill as well as a relentless work ethic and a strong desire to be involved in Strength and Conditioning at the collegiate or professional level.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required. Passionate about teaching/motivating student-athletes.
- Work cooperatively with coaches and sports medicine staff.
