Description
The Senior Staff Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist III, reports to the Clinical Supervisor, Physical Therapy and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. The Senior Therapist works primarily with pediatric and adolescent patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds although adult and geriatric patients may also be treated.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of general patient care experience with a minimum of 2 years in an outpatient setting, within the past 5 years.
- Minimum of 40 hours of professional development activities, 50% of which are continuing education units (CEUs) or relevant academic coursework. The remainder can include mentoring, Grand Rounds, independent reading, etc.
- Prior experience as a clinical preceptor and prior experience teaching to a wide variety of audiences.
- Demonstrates ability to consistently meet clinical caseload requirements of a staff level therapist.
- Ability to work a minimum of 32 hours and 4 days per week.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to recognize signs of distress.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior professional clinical experience in an academic medical center environment.
- Prior experience working with an interdisciplinary health provider team.
- Possession of a degree or certificate in Physical Therapy from an accredited professional educational program.
