Description
Under the direction of the Branch Executive Director, the Sports & Youth Enrichment Director position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures programs and services meet community needs to include supervising existing program activities, establishing new programs activities, and expanding the program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Provide leadership in the planning and implementation of assigned branch events such as Healthy Kids Day and other community outreach events.
- Recruit and hire diverse staff across multiple dimensions of diversity. Onboard and develop them for success.
- Model relationship-building skills in all interactions; Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations. Maintain regular, clear, and concise communication within area o

- Develop philanthropic relationships with members & program users and educate toward our mission.
- Visually inspect work areas and equipment for safety and risk; problem solve and report any unsafe or suspicious activity to supervisor or Manager on Duty. Ensure a safe working environment at all times.
- Responsible for filling out accident/incident reports as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from credited college or university preferred.
- YMCA Team Leader Certification preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and personal values consistent with the YMCA mission.
- Minimum 3-5 years of YMCA or youth serving experience.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Evenings, weekends and occasional holidays are required.
- General office skills and proficiency with Customer Relationship Management systems (Daxko preferred), Microsoft Office programs and the internet.
- The incumbent must be able to delegate appropriate responsibilities to the staff in order to accomplish the necessary duties.
