Description
The Sports Director develops, plans, organizes, implements, supervises, and evaluates all youth, teen, and adult sports programs, staff development and site maintenance. The Sports Director oversees the management of programs, facilities, volunteer and staff development, financial development and collaborations with the community agencies in meeting the needs of its program participants.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 21 years old.
- 2 years' experience in a managerial role in sports or relevant.
- Previous experience in hiring, supervision and development of staff and budget management.
- Experience with program design, development, implementation and retention.
- Degree in Sports Management, Recreation or related degree a plus.
- Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration.
Essential Functions:
- Recruit, hire, and train all staff and volunteers relating to assigned.
- Develop and supervise youth and adult sports programs, tournaments, special interest classes, court facilities, and facility rentals.
- Develop and manage department.
- Create and implement new programs that meet the needs of the community and the goals and objectives of youth and adult sports programs as set forth by the YMCA of the Pikes Peak.
- Represent the association and maintain relationships in a professional manner with organizations such as the police department, group homes, City Recreation Department, and school districts in the Colorado Springs.
- Build and implement an adequate marketing strategy to ensure the success of youth and adult sports programs.
- Administer all aspects of the youth and adult sport programs, including basketball, soccer, volleyball, and baseball.
