The Sports Science and Performance Coach will support the delivery of human performance management services to Vegas Golden Knights players in the areas of sports science, reconditioning, and strength and conditioning. This role will uphold the unifying principles of the Sports Performance Department and provide services that are player-centric in construct and multidisciplinary in execution. The Sports Science and Performance Coach will report directly to the Director of Sports Performance and Head Athletic Trainer. This position is expected to collaborate services with our team of multidisciplinary experts and coaches.
Master’s degree in Sports or Exercise Science (or equivalent);
Certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (or equivalent credentials);
Valid BLS certification or ability to obtain quickly;
Experience using technologies such as athlete management systems, GPS, HR monitors, force plates, velocity-based training, muscle EMG and various other monitoring technology;
Experience with data management systems and visualization software (Tableau and/or Power BI experience preferred);
Experience with statistical analysis including correlations, principle component analysis and regression analysis (basic programming in R-Studio experience preferred);
Logic and analytic capacity to organize, assess, clean and interpret performance data.
Additional sports performance-related training and certifications preferred:
2 years or more relevant post-certification work experience;
Previous professional or high-level amateur experience preferred;
Ability to work in team environment is essential;
Excellent organizational skills;
Fluency in English, both oral and written.
